"AJ's Hot Rods" was established in 1992 and started out building fibreglass Model A Ford Roadsters on Toyota Hilux chassis for the Gold Coast (Australia) car rental market. These cars needed to comply with full ADR's so that anybody could drive them. A number of cars were built and put into service. As word got out AJ's Hot Rods started to get enquires as to selling fibreglass components relating to the Toyota Hilux concept and also the mainstay hot rod projects. By 1995 "AJ's Hot Rods" was in full swing selling reproduction fibreglass body's, panels, fenders and chassis. to the hot rod market. The line-up included -- 28-29 Roadster, 28-29 4 door Phaeton and 30-31 roadster. 1996 AJ's introduced there own in house built coil over shock-absorbers (HOT SHOCKS). This was followed by steering columns, column drops and steering wheel adaptors. Throughout these years many customer cars were built, modified or restored. 1998 saw the introduction of the 30-31 Ford 2 door phaeton and this body proved to be popular with young families and tall people. Body, fender and chassis packages were also available. 2002 "AJ's Hot Rods" closed it's doors due to family conflict and all the moulds, jigs and tooling was sold. Since then Andrew (AJ) has been building cars as a 1 man show staying relatively low key. "AJ's Hot rods" is based on the belief their customers' needs are of the utmost importance. He is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals. We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the industry.
