"Elica is revolutionising the rangehood market with its innovative models" and "Fagor is the market leader in Spain and France"

Appliances are such an integral part of a kitchen, it makes sense to plan for these right from the outset. It's an approach that's taken for granted in Europe – the centre of good design.

Greg Raine, national sales manager of Integrated Appliance Group, says in Europe, 60% of kitchen appliances are sold through kitchen design companies, compared to less than 3% in Australia. "Selling appliances through kitchen companies is a model we pioneered 10 years ago, and it's gaining popularity," Raine says. "Today we have more than 160 kitchen companies selling our appliances in Australia. Buying your appliances through your kitchen company makes sense as appliances are integral to the design and should be incorporated during the design process. After all, your designer knows what will best suit your needs."

Leading European manufacturers represented by Integrated Appliance Group include Elica, a manufacturer of high-end Italian rangehoods. "Elica is revolutionising the market with its innovative models," says Raine. "The Elica Star air extraction unit, winner of the 2008 Designex new appliance award, is both a designer light fixture and a rangehood. The Elica Wave is another variation on this theme."

Prestige Appliances Chastwood, also distributes Fagor appliances. Fagor is a specialist in induction cooking and pyrolytic ovens. "Fagor is a market leader in Spain and France, all the products in this range have similar aesthetics and complement modern kitchen designs." Other ranges distributed by the company include the competitively priced ARC appliance collection.
