Our mission is to build a strong, cohesive, and healthy community by developing and providing programs, activities and services that respond to the needs of the most disadvantaged and isolated people. The Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre was founded in 1989 as a community-based initiative to provide help, friendship, and support to the most disenfranchised people in the community. The emphasis of all of our activities is on people and the relief of issues and concerns that impede them from living a successful and happy life. We develop and deliver programs and services in response to community needs. Presently, the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre manages 30 funded programs that encompass aspects of aged care, family services, diversity, and social isolation.
The Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre Inc is highly regarded by customers for its friendly staff, variety of services and information, easy parking, great community resource, and excellent facilities for events. Many praise the centre for its open and honest talks, quiet coffee spots, free activities, and helpfulness. The community navigator, Tara, is specifically commended for her assistance and dedication.
