The Children’s Therapy Centre is your centre of excellence for all your paediatric therapy. We have occupational therapists, physiotherapists and speech pathologists with high levels of experience in all aspects of your child’s developmental needs. Our centre is well maintained and we have a variety of amazing therapy resources and current therapy equipment to use in sessions. The Children’s Therapy Centre was established in 1988 by families who previously had to travel into Brisbane to access therapy services for their children. Initially the centre operated three days a week from a room at the Nambour State School. Over the years the centre had a variety of locations including the old Nambour Blood Bank. During the 1990’s, with increasing funding and community support, the service was extended to provide therapy for five days a week. In 1997, following a fantastic community effort and with government support a purpose built centre was opened for the children and families of the Sunshine Coast to attend for their essential therapy services. The centre was renovated in 2010 to provide more space and in 2012, the Maroochy RSL donated funds to build a new outdoor area for children’s therapy sessions. Our part time staff of 3 has grown to a present staff of 15 albeit mostly still part time. We have now journeyed with over 500 families. The centre also provides outreach services to Gympie 1 days a week. We are in the planning stages of setting up another centre in Caboolture . It is anticipated that we will offer therapy services 5 days a week in Caboolture and an expanded Gympie service over the coming years.
