The Briars The 225-hectare Briars Park (Briars Outdoor Ed. Camp is situated within the Briars Park) is owned and managed by the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council. The Briars is one of the oldest properties on the Mornington Peninsula, featuring an 1840’s homestead containing natural trust furniture and a unique collection of memorabilia directly linked to the French emperor, Napoleon Bonaparte. Almost half of the property is leased as a working farm for Black Angus cattle, providing a unique and serene rural setting for our camp. The Briars also features a sustainable house (Ecohouse)- great for school groups to tour, a restaurant, Josephine’s just a short stroll down the track, a Visitor’s Centre, an observatory - that is the home of the Mornington Peninsula Astronomical Society, a cafe and the Briars Homestead. About the Briars Outdoor Ed. Camp (BOEC) The BOEC is a locally owned and ran family business, you will find us set amidst a quiet, 9-hectare bush setting at the end of the track leading into the Briars property. Providing a comprehensive and diverse range of challenging activities both within and outside the property. We cater for all types of school groups during the four school terms, and weekends and holidays are available for other groups such as families, clubs, scouts, church groups, special functions, etc.
