Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Labrador Gordon Street is an intimate 3 room Centre that is friendly, warm, safe and welcoming for your children, families and our Educators. We work in partnership with our families to provide a nurturing environment that caters for the individual needs of all children at the Centre. We recognise that parents are “Children’s first educators” and value the vital role parents, carers and family members play in children’s lives and their ongoing learning. The relationships we have with parents and families is based on open communication and respect. We have 3 quality Programs – the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), The Kindergarten Program and My Time Our Place (MTOP) for the school aged children. These Frameworks support our Educators in their planning for the children’s interests, ideas and intentions, along with parent, family and community priorities and contexts. Through appropriate communication and careful planning, we aim to build connections between children’s prior, current and future learning experiences to promote continuity of learning. We cater to children in groups from Toddlers through to Kindergarten. We believe that the education of children in their early years is most effective when learning through play. Nurturing their development by encouraging hands on activities is fundamental to a love of learning. Throughout our Centre programs we focus on allowing the child to feel at home whilst also preparing them for the wider community and school life. Within our wonderful rooms and stimulating outdoor play areas, our curriculum focuses on: Self-help and life skills, Mathematics, Language and Literacy and Pre-writing skills and Social Interactions. Parent participation is important to us and we encourage and provide many opportunities for Parents to seek and give feedback on their children’s progress throughout the course of the day and within the year via Parent feedback, Parent events, Parent meetings, …
