Ron has been involved in the aviation industry since 1982 when he began working as an AIRPORT INSPECTOR for the Department of Aviation (based in Adelaide). In 1984 he was part of a small team of Airport Inspectors based in Darwin and was primarily responsible for ensuring all remote Licensed aerodromes complied with the civil aviation standards at that time. In 1988 Ron was one of 2 personnel responsible for the overall maintenance/operations of airports in north Queensland including; Mount Isa, Coen, Cooktown, Horn Island, Lockhart River and Mackay. Between 1990 to 2001 he was Operations ^ Technical Manager Townsville Airport as well as Asset Manager Townsville Airport. During this time he was responsible for; Overseeing airport operations compliance and airfield maintenance works # Managing Safety Officers and Grounds Maintenance section Ron also has a Certificate in Surveying Ron is a qualified Safety Officer and has his Radio Operators certificate.
