The name Donald Gorringe is synonymous with the automotive industry having been involved since 1947. Donald Gorringe snr. started by himself in Queenstown Tasmania, with a small workshop and garage. He later then moved to Hobart and was to establish the first transport company to travel the windy road from Hobart to Queenstown. His business ventures from then included selling Leyland trucks to being the first Tasmanian distributor for Porsche cars. The company as it is now in Elizabeth Street North Hobart has been there since 1971 and is still operated by the Gorringe family. The company today is split into three divisions all operating from the one location, they are: 1: Spare Parts 2: Machining Workshop 3: Service Department One of our biggest developments took place in December 2003, with the buyout of Miller & Keady. This has increased our staff by over 45% and with the extra machinery now on site has increased our workshop output by double.
