Established on the 16th April 1970 by Bob and Sonja Dixon, Bob’s Sound Systems had humble beginnings in a small location at 158 Payneham Road in Evandale before later relocating to Tynte Street, North Adelaide. Now, over 44 years later, BSS Light Audio Visual employs over 20 staff with large Sales and Hire departments located on Port Road in Hindmarsh. As part of our commitment to provide outstanding service in all facets of BSS Light Audio Visual’s delivery of its services, BSS employs a dynamic team of staff experienced in the design, management, installation and operation of audio/visual solutions to suit customer requirements. Through our success, BSS has been selected by many businesses and events as their preferred choice to deliver an outstanding Audio/Visual solution to meet their requirements. We strive to create work for South Australian Artists and Arts Workers by making and presenting theatrical productions of the highest calibre. We seek new approaches to making theatre and at a time when venues are closing and are threatening to close we continue to contribute to the continued vitality of theatre and the arts Industry. We continue to develop new strategies to create employment opportunities and support the cultural future of South Australia. We are dedicated to the professional development and production of theatre with our in house season The Directors Choice and our co-productions with emerging companies. We strongly encourage new companies to form and existing companies to continue by offering support, advice and a contributive environment. In order to engage new and existing audiences we focus towards the presentation and development of new Australian works, international productions which may not have been seen here in Australia and innovative ways of presentation. We strive for cultural and artistic significance on a Local, National and International scale and we are passionate about building exchange programs between Holden Street and international companies to contribute to the quality and diversity of the arts in South Australia. Holden Street Theatres is gaining local, national and international recognition as a venue with that supports new collaborations, takes risks, produces internationally viable work and supports companies to develop high calibre productions. In its short history, Holden Street has shown a huge amount of development and productivity. This progress is a clear indication of the ability of Holden Street to continue to strive for excellence and support the South Australian Arts Industry in the future. 
Holden Street Theatres is a beloved local venue for professional Australian theatre with a rich history and immersive atmosphere.
