To serve our members and their guests with a consistent standard of service, to provide quality amenities and maintain the integrity of the Club in its operation and in the community In 1946, 22 Diggers met in a local store and decided to form a Returned Soldiers Club. These locals met every Friday night and played cards, darts and various games. They purchased an old Army hut from Hay and had it moved to a site at 37 Denison Street. Ernie Willard, a local carrier, brought the hut from Hay. The diggers continued to meet there, and on the 24th December 1955, the Club was granted a full license. With the granting of a full license, the R. L purchased from the Tocumwal Catholic School their hostel for about 1, 200 pounds and moved it to the president site in Tocumwal Street. The club continued to expand and on the 9th of October 1972 became the FINLEY RETURNED SOLDIERS CLUB LIMITED.
The Finley Returned Soldiers Club is a popular social venue with friendly staff and excellent food. Many visitors appreciate the kid-friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices. Some reviews mention issues with wait times for meals. The parking and wheelchair accessibility are reported to be easy. A few customers had negative experiences with customer service, but overall the atmosphere and raffles are praised. Betta Home Living at the Finley branch is highly regarded for its customer service and competitive pricing.
