Established in 2006, Gallery 9 is a contemporary art gallery based in Sydney’s Darlinghurst. Gallery 9 presents a program of established and younger artists working in a range of mediums from painting and drawing to photomedia, ceramics, sculpture, installation and media works. For over eight years, Gallery 9 has been dedicated to a program of contemporary art, which is international in its outlook. This was recognised by Contemporary Magazine, London in 2007 when it nominated Gallery 9 as one of the 50 emerging galleries in the world. Gallery 9 represents artists working in Australia, New Zealand, The USA and Berlin in its Sydney gallery and also, shows a number of its artists in off-site exhibitions in Melbourne. We are committed to supporting the artistic development of our represented artists, nurturing their experimentations and investigations over the long term. Gallery 9 artists are in major museum collections within Australia and internationally including National Gallery of Australia, Museum of Contemporary Art, Art Gallery of NSW, Queensland Art Gallery, National Gallery of Victoria and Auckland City Gallery. They are also part of regional gallery collections, corporate collections, Artbank and numerous private collections. Gallery 9 presents a dynamic range of exhibitions, showing both our represented artists and an exciting program of new artistic and curatorial voices.
