The Manly Warringah Gymnastic Club (MWGC) is a community based, non-profit sporting organisation. The club is run by a board of directors, full & part time management, coaching & administrative staff who are all focussed on promoting the benefits of gymnastics in the community. Any surplus funds are re-invested in the Club. MWGC were awaded the 2013 GNSW Club of the Year. Our Committee is motivated by our Mission Statement . Our venue in Cromer is fully equipped with Olympic standard gymnastic equipment and is set up specifically for the purposes of our various gymnastic programs. It is one of the best equipped gymnastic training facilities in the state. Many of our Club members achieve 1st, 2nd or 3rd in State and National Championships. In 2001 the NSW Gymnastic Association awarded our Club the title of NSW Gymnastic Club of the Year. Monique Allen progressed through our Club to the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra and became our first Olympian and the first Australian female gymnast to achieve a Gold Medal in Gymnastics, at the Commonwealth Games in Auckland. A number of our past members have used their extensive grounding in gymnastics to take them to the top in other sporting endeavours, April Adams in diving and Rosanna Ditton in the Pole Vault. Over the 30 years the Club has played an integral part in the development of many thousands of the youth of our community. They have grown in physique, skill and character and have passed through the Club significantly better equipped to address the many challenges of life than when they joined us. A number of ex Gymnasts have returned to the Club as Coaches and Judges and made a significant contribution towards the development of their successors.
