We are a law practice with an emphasis on employment and equal opportunity matters and with expertise in all aspects of litigation before courts and tribunals. Martin Willoughby-Thomas has been involved in workplace and equal opportunity matters for many years both as a lawyer and a trade union officer. He established his law practice in 1993 and has been involved in a number of significant cases. One of the primary objectives of the law practice is to assist individuals who have deserving claims to gain access to justice. The legal issues which the firm handles include:- Fair Work, Employment Law and Industrial Relations - including employment contracts, breach of contract, breach of awards and agreements and statutory entitlements, unfair dismissals, unlawful terminations, adverse action/general protections, workplace rights and disciplinary proceedings. Discrimination/Equal Opportunity - including discrimination and harassment based on race, colour, sex, marital status, family responsibilities, pregnancy, age, disability, religion, sexual preference and gender identity. Administrative Law Human Rights and Social Justice Litigation Advocacy - we often handle appearances before courts and tribunals ourselves and thus we act as both barristers and solicitors. We do not however handle criminal law, family law or workcover matters. Nor do we handle more general solicitors matters such as wills, property or conveyancing.
