In 1995 Matt opened Volks Affair in Alfred Street, South Melbourne by himself with just one hoist. Shortly after his brother Tom came on board. Quickly building loyalty and trust with their customers Volks Affair grew putting in more hoists and hiring more highly skilled mechanics. By 2008 Volks Affair had outgrown our home in Alfred Street and moved around the corner to City Rd. Again our customer base continued to grow and we found we needed an even bigger home. So in 2014 we moved to our current site at 104 Thisltlethwaite Street, South Melbourne. Volks Affair prides itself on it honesty and transparency. Not only do we still have customers returning to us from when we started almost 20 years ago as well as the ones who found us along the way but we still have the same mechanics, some with us from the start and others who have left to gain further skills and explore the world and returned to work for us.
