Matthew Millington, the owner/operator of Eastern Shore Batteries, having had many years experience in the battery industry, saw a need for a specialist retail outlet on the eastern shore of Hobart. In February 2009, Matthew opened the Bellerive store. Due to his knowledge and experience in the industry, he was able to source and supply any type of battery to suit any customer’s requirements. Many clients lived in rural and semi rural areas and were interested in solar energy. This was a natural progression for Matthew to develop a Solar Supply and Service arm to the business. This has been extremely successful, and he is now supplying specialist ‘On Grid & Off the Grid Solar Power Systems’ and Solar Tracking Systems, all over southern Tasmania. ESB is in a unique position in the Solar Industry, as the business can supply a choice of batteries and systems to suit the any customer’s requirements, as well as providing the services of a qualified and experienced electrician. ESB’s expertise is not restricted to just house Solar Power Systems and Solar Hotwater systems but also specialises in Marine Batteries and Solar Systems also providing the services of a Marine Electrical Specialist. Caravans and Camper trailers are catered for, with a wide range of deep cycle batteries and we can also provide a specialist electrician for fitting of any of these items. In May 2013, Matthew opened the Sorell store to provide service to one of the fastest growing areas in Tasmania. This store also provides a much more convenient location for customers from the East Coast of Tasmania and the Tasman Peninsular. All the services provided by the Bellerive store are available at the Sorell store.
