Background Townsend + Associates Architects is Canberra based and was established in 1993 by Bruce and Catherine Townsend. The practice has achieved recognition for high quality design and construction work encompassing small and large commercial projects, single residences and significant multi-unit residential works. The office takes a first principles approach to design and detailing that has produced many highly resolved, refined but practical buildings. Townsend + Associates Architects is regarded as one of the leading architectural firms in the Canberra context and has been awarded fourteen ACT Chapter RAIA Architectural Awards and a National Robin Boyd Award for Housing (Commendation). With a staff of between six and ten, T+AA is currently working on projects in the ACT, NSW, WA and Queensland.
