Tinonee Gardens The Multicultural Village is a not for profit, stand alone facility owned and operated by Hunter Housing Inc and the Ethnic Communities Council of Newcastle and the Hunter Region Inc. Tinonee Gardens The Multicultural Village is an accredited Commonwealth funded residential aged care facility located at 15 Tinonee Road, Waratah that has been providing high quality residential aged care to people of the Hunter since 1991. The facility, accommodating 187 residents offers a range of services and accommodation within a site area of 2.417 hectares surrounded by well appointed gardens creating a resident friendly environment. Low care “hostel” style facilities are ideally suited for residents who are no longer able to manage activities of daily living and accommodation is provided in small houses with single room with ensuite. Dementia units offer secure, friendly environments for residents requiring ongoing support for those living with dementia. Tinonee Gardens accommodates residents in the least secure environment but has the flexibility to accommodate residents living with dementia in more secure, high care units as the resident’s care needs and dependency increase. Respite care at Tinonee Gardens is arranged through Hunter Carer Respite Centre for people in the community who require short term care on a planned or emergency basis. We cater for the unique needs of our elderly community and incorporate requirements of residents from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Tinonee Gardens is well located in regards to local retail and commercial facilities and has good access to public transport and the adjoining residential facilities including public and private health facilities and easy walking distance to Waratah Shopping Village some 300 metres from the facility main entrance. Tinonee Gardens The Multicultural Village facility bus provides shopping trips to local retail centres on a regular basis.
