Taking prime position at Darling Square will be The Exchange, a spiralling, light-filled, ‘hive, ’ designed by world-renowned Japanese architect, Kengo Kuma.

A civic space to meet the city’s needs as much as it’s ambitions, upon completion, The Exchange will feature a state of the art City of Sydney library, a new childcare facility, a ground floor market food hall, mezzanine restaurant, and rooftop restaurant and bar with sweeping views of Sydney’s skyline. With its circular form, The Exchange has a unique permeability, allowing easy flow in, out, up and down.

Standing at six-storeys high and wrapped in 20 kilometres of sustainably sourced timber, The Exchange is envisioned as a new Sydney architectural icon and a platform for innovation in a city beckoning for one.

Powering Sydney’s start-up culture, The Exchange will include a dedicated IQ-Hub and Makerspace - providing flexible spaces for events, seminars, meetings, workshops and cross-disciplinary creativity and invention.
