Established in 1981, Sydney Multicultural Community Services (SMCS) formerly Botany Migrant Resource Centre (BMRC) is a non-profit organisation that provides a diverse range of assistance and care services to people of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. Through community development strategies, SMCS seeks to empower individuals and communities to actively participate in Australian society. As part of this process the SMCS centre facilitates information sessions, workshops, research and consultations. Services and assistance are provided to all migrants, refugees and humanitarian entrants, regardless of circumstances, sex, religion, political affiliation, or ethnic background. Those seeking assistance can contact the centre and speak to the bilingual staff who will ensure that all issues are dealt with sensitively, professionally and confidentially.
