Camping in this area was started soon after the arrival of trains, and by the 1930's camping leisure holidays had started to become an options for middle class and wealthy families. The Foreshore Trust formalised the camping area in the 1950's and many of our regulars have been coming since that time. Now operated by Warrnambool City Council, the site provides excellent facilities for campers, both powered and unpowered sites, self-contained cabins, excellent amenities, a new camp kitchen and easy access to the award winning Lake Pertobe Adventure Playground area.
