Many years ago, (probably about 20y) I bought some socks through the school fundraiser, ie. Sock it to you Australia. The socks were all 100% wool. What fabulous warm socks they are!!! Yes they are still going! only just now...sigh...I am looking for more of the same. They wash in warm water like a pro; they’re soft and for the last twenty or so winters (I only wear socks in winter) these socks have done an excellent job on my tootsies! So if anyone wants a recommendation I can definitely vouch for these. Not sure if you can buy by yourself, or indeed if the product has changed the way it’s made these days.
