Silversand Centre, home to Light Hands Horsemanship, is situated near the Riverland township of Blanchetown, which is 40 minutes drive from the Barossa Valley and 2 hours drive north of Adelaide in South Australia. The 160 acre property itself is home to kangaroos, hairy nose wombats and many species of native birds. The centre offers you the opportunity to enjoy a natural Australian environment, while focusing on your horsemanship skills in the company of like-minded people. Equine Services: The centre also offers a range of educational, relaxing and holistic health courses for you and your horse, delivered by experts in those areas. Facilities Include: Looking for a venue for your club activities, or for a group of friends to get together for a trail ride or camp? The Silversand centre is perfect for combining trail riding, club meetings or relaxing walks around the property. Private lessons, workshops or clinics with Steve can also be arranged during your stay. If you would like to combine a holiday with your horsemanship training - or take a break from horses altogether! - this is an excellent area in which to do so. The River Murray is 10 kilometres away and you can hire a houseboat, fish, swim or just relax with a drink and watch the pelicans. The Barossa Valley, 40 minutes drive to the south-west, is home to Orlando Winery (of Jacobs Creek fame), Penfolds and 54 other wineries where you can enjoy free wine tasting and cellar door sales. Other places of interest are Banrock Station, Portee Station, Mallyons Bush Restaurant, or further afield, Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills, Glenelg Beach and Kangaroo Island.
