The Head office is located in Mortdale a suburb of Sydney, Mortdale is situated approx 17km from the CBD of Sydney, and a 20 Minute drive from Sydney Airport. Dating back to 1952 the business was founded in 1952 by John Baker and was originally set up as a Patternshop producing quality patterns for many of the then large Foundries that operated around Australia, at this time the business was trading under the name of J Baker Patternmaking. In 1965 a small facillity was setup adjacent to the Patternshop to manufacture castings using a casting process called the Shaw Process Shaw Process Castings Pty Ltd . In 1970 the company commenced its expansion and began what was then the introduction of the Investment Casting Process to Australia. John Baker being the pioneer and one of the first to bring the Investment Casting Process to Australia began with the manufacture of over 7000 Stainless Steel Golf Club Heads per week for several of the biggest sporting goods companies in Australia. 55 years later the business is still run by the Baker family and to this day the business has grown stronger over the years and with the development in 3Ddesign and prototyping Shaw Process Castings is supplying quality castings in a wide range of materials both here in Australia and overseas.
