Segue was founded in 1977 by Joy Smith, a certified financial planner with 30 years experience in the financial planning industry. In 1989 the business began to specialise in strategic investment and tax planning with financial structures that qualified clients for Centrelink and Veterans’ Affairs benefits. Then in the late nineties the business developed further managing investments directly and providing a holistic administration service in-house that it employs today. From small beginnings, Segue has grown to include a strong team of like-minded skilled professionals with experience in the areas of client financial care, self-managed super funds, taxation, investment management, estate planning, accounting and government benefit issues (local and overseas). Segue’s team also includes consultants with expertise in actuarial solutions and auditing. Segue has gained and maintained a strong position in the financial services industry, focusing on continued education and specialised knowledge in the area of retirement planning. The result is a unique combination of strategies, structures and service which provide long-term financial benefits not readily available in mainstream financial planning. Segue is committed to a partnership that maintains a close relationship with a small number of clients. We are able to do this by ensuring a low adviser to client ratio where service continues to be refined and improved and where clients’ needs, desires and aspirations continue to be met as and when changes in circumstances and legislation occur.
