Maria has been practicing Osteopathy for 10 years. She was led to the Osteopathic approach to treatment after having difficulty resolving injuries, whilst competing as a middle distance runner. Now Maria's interests include Paediatrics, Women's health, Injury management and Chronic Disease management. Maria uses gentle techniques as well as some more direct approaches in order to promote the body's self-healing

Osteopathy is a whole body approach to healthcare. The basic philosophy of Osteopathy is to remove the impediments to health, so that the body is better able heal itself. Osteopaths use manual, "hands-on" techniques, such as massage, manipulation, articulation, mobilisation, cranio-sacral and other indirect techniques, along with rehabilitation, exercise and dietary prescription.
