Back many years ago I joined the forerunner organisation to the Owner Drivers Association. Whilst I did not realise it at that point it was one of the better things that I ever did. This organisation is very professional in its approach to issues within the road transport industry and as a result policy makers and road safety bodies do listen to much of what is said by the committee. If you believe that somehow, someway you can help to make the road transport industry a better industry to participate in, then join up and attend the open meetings. You can (through the Owner Driver Association) make a difference

Description
The Association is there for its members who are kept in touch with all matters affecting their business.
It is held in high esteem by Government departments, the legislature and the private sector.
The Association monitors all truck and labor cost increases, recommends hourly and tonne/kilometre rates and minimum or ruling rates for cartage and provides all up to date information on a regular (if not daily if email address provided) basis.
