Andrew North began working as an ecological consultant in 1993. He met Philip Barker at about the same time where Philip was still pursuing research at the University of Tasmania. Six years later Andrew had a little more business than one could handle and asked Philip if he was interested in doing some of that work. They could both see an opportunity to grow a business and so, in a pub in Launceston, they shook hands to form a partnership. That was back in 1999. Since that time North Barker has steadily grown and today is a vibrant small business employing six people. Our mature staff offer experience and honed skills while our younger team members bring adaptability with new approaches; as well as better eyesight! Between us, we have experience in all environments from coastal to alpine across all regions of Tasmania. On the "mainland" we have experience in WA, SA, NSW, QLD and Victoria. North Barker offer clients exceptional service in development planning and impact assessment. We also undertake strategic planning projects and ecological research, as well as conservation and biodiversity management projects.
