NextStepAcademy, Marrickville, NSW

NextStepAcademy is an Australian tutoring company that connects families with private, one-on-one tutors for students from Kindergarten through to Year 12. Lessons happen in person at the student's home in every major Australian city, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Hobart, Darwin, the Gold Coast and Newcastle, and online for families anywhere else in the country.

We tutor every subject at every year level. That includes primary school literacy and numeracy, high school Maths, English and the Sciences, and senior subjects under every state curriculum, including the HSC in New South Wales, the VCE in Victoria, the QCE in Queensland, the WACE in Western Australia, the SACE in South Australia, and the International Baccalaureate. We also help students prepare for NAPLAN, selective school entry tests and scholarship exams.

Our tutors are recent high achievers who sat the same exams only a few years ago. That matters, because they remember exactly how the course is assessed, where students usually lose marks, and how it feels to be under pressure. Every tutor is hand-picked, interviewed face to face, reference checked and holds a Working With Children Check that is valid for paid work. Before the first lesson, parents can see their tutor's profile, so there are no surprises at the door.

Families work with the same tutor every week. Consistency is what turns a few lessons into real progress, so we match each student to a tutor who suits their subjects, year level, goals and personality. Most families are matched within 48 to 72 hours. Tutors draw on a library of more than 20,000 resources, including past papers, worksheets and practice exams, and lessons follow the student's own school program rather than a generic workbook.

We keep things simple for parents. There are no contracts, no lock-ins and no term fees paid up front. You pay as you go, after each lesson. Online lessons start from $65 an hour and in-home lessons are up to $89 an hour, and the first lesson is covered by our Happiness Guarantee.

Whether your child needs to catch up, keep up or get ahead, we would love to help. Book a first lesson at nextstepacademy.com.au or call 1300 690 100.
