Metropolitan Bin Hire is an Australian owned and operated bin hire and recycling business, operating throughout the South and South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. John Kerr commenced operations in 1985 under the name AJ Bin Hire with one truck and a few 3 and 4 cubic meter bins. The first few years of business saw steady growth through the provision of a reliable friendly service that continuing to today. In 1990 Metropolitan Bin Hire was purchased along with it assets and customer base. AJ Bin Hire was amalgamated into Metropolitan Bin Hire and this allowed further expansion and the provision of an increased range of bin sizes . Continuing growth saw a move in 2005 to a larger and our current, operational facility in Mordialloc. This move also coincided with the purchase of the assets and customer base of A. E. Bin Hire, which was seamlessly merged to operate under the Metropolitan Bin Hire banner. Late in 2010 the Kingston Council granted Metropolitan Bin Hire a permit to operate a materials recycling and transfer station at its Mordialloc premises. As a result of this permit Metropolitan Bin Hire invested in the very latest material reclamation machine imported from Europe. This machine sorts the various types of heavy waste collected, such as soil, brick, concrete, tiles, metals, timber and green waste streams that aid diversion from landfill.
