Maurice Drent Boating Services (MDBS) commenced business in Australia in 1977 at Double Bay in Sydney. Having established its name selling quality used power/sail boats and new Bertram cruisers, the business then expanded in 1982 by taking over the brokerage of the prestigious Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, at Rushcutters Bay, Sydney. During this period MDBS, in Sydney, successfully sold nearly 2, 000 boats ranging from Quarter ton yachts to Maxi's and some of the worlds best known cruising yachts and power boats, both large and small. In 1995 MDBS again expanded its Australian operation by franchising offices in the Whitsunday's, followed by South Australia, Broken Bay/Pittwater NSW, Tasmania, Northern Territory/Darwin, Brisbane, Western Australia, Victoria and most recently Northern Rivers, Port Stephens and Bermagui in NSW. Overseas representatives are based in Singapore, Hong Kong and Phuket to service South East Asia, Auckland, New Zealand and Noumèa, New Caledonia. Further local and overseas office locations are anticipated in the near future.
