Company description

The services offered are centred on providing people with a safe and supportive relationship that is marked by empathy and respect. This type of relationship enables people to explore challenging experiences and to make changes in themselves and in their lives outside the therapeutic setting.

Work-Related Stress and Career Burnout:
Burnout is a phenomenon characterised by emotional exhaustion, feeling disconnected from others and experiencing a reduced sense of accomplishment. Burnout is recognised to result from repeated and prolonged exposure to occupational stress. People experiencing burnout in the workplace often report feeling pressured or unappreciated by their employers and experiencing conflict within the workplace. These stressors are often accompanied by feelings of loss for a once enjoyable and fulfilling role.

Treatment of work-related stress and burnout will vary from person to person, depending on the circumstances within the workplace as well as a person’s character. Developing strategies to manage stress is a core part of the treatment of burnout. Other aspects to the treatment of burnout may include understanding and changing relationship dynamics in the workplace, exploring personal values as well as how they relate to a work role, grief counselling to process the loss of a once cherished role (this is not to be underestimated) and exploring the existential aspects of a current or future work role. It is not uncommon for the causes of burnout to lie beyond an individual’s role. In such cases treatment can be centred on helping people to prepare for a future, more fulfilling, working role.
