Letitia Morris Gallery specialises in Original Vintage Posters. The Gallery has been situated in High Street Armadale Melbourne for the past 20 years. I personally was the first to bring original Bally posters by Villemot to Melbourne in 1993. We are a little more than a little aghast at the proliferation of reproductions on the market now. We traditionally source our posters from Paris and outlying French regions, but now obviously use the net too. As I have a fine art background I have tried to be ambitious and bring top of the range international quality posters to Australia. I think our stock of over a thousand posters is amongst the ten best held by commercial galleries worldwide. Other Australian galleries, for all their hype, have little of international quality. Although stocking works by Cassandre, Loupot, Bonnard and Lautrec our interest has moved towards the post WW2 period with a special interest in the work of Gruau, Villemot and Savignac. Still the gallery endeavors to hold a good range of original vintage posters that represent the graphic work of the whole 20th century. Nearly all of our posters are laid down on linen and “canson” paper backing for conservation and are in good condition. We recommend visiting the Gallery to experience the posters in the flesh, we also have a selection of books on key poster artists and art periods to look through.
