Johan Steenkamp obtained a Bachelors degree in Podiatry (2010) at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa. He started his career at the National University Hospital in Singapore where he gained extensive skills in treating high-risk foot conditions. During this time he had the honour of contributing a chapter in THE DIABETIC FOOT published by WORLD SCIENTIFIC.
From Singapore Johan moved to a fast paced, upscale private practice in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He then moved to Australia (first to Sydney and later to Perth) where he was involved in both the private and public sectors.
Johan treats patients with conditions ranging from competitive sport injuries to general foot ailments. Passionate about sport and outdoor activities himself, he understands the importance of being active and pain free. Johan’s expertise incorporates both adults and children, implementing treatment plans specifically tailored to have long-term benefits for the entire family.
He has extensive experience in treating children’s foot problems, rehabilitating sport injuries, bio- mechanics, custom-made orthotics, assessment and management of high-risk foot problems and a variety of other podiatric conditions.
Johan provides his services from within the Spine & Sports Centre throughout the week while maintaining some appointments at a renowned public hospital in Perth.
