Our latest project is the development of a floating scissor lift, this vessel provides access under wharfs for sandblasting and painting and other maintenance. It is small enough to get into the tight spots and with 2 mtrs reach there is more work and less waiting for the tides. It has been fully engineered to comply with Australian standards and meets all NSCV requirments.
Company description
HICAT MARINE is a small family owned business based in Darwin, Norther Territory. Over the past 2 years we have been devloping marine access vessels- or "Scissor Barges".
Currently we have one Scissor Barge in service at HMAS Coonawarra, Darwin, NT working on the Attack Wharf maintenance project and another vessel being developed by our Engineer. Also in the design phase is a 6.5mtr flat bottom work punt, This will be built in house and remain as part of out fleet to sevice the Scissor barge when on blasting and painting projects. The Scissor Barges we build are primarily aimed at wharf maintenance, specifically the sandblasting and painting of piles of up to 1067mm in diameter but can be used in other accplications such as under- wharf inspections amd pile splicing.
