Gilbert's Motor Garage is a family business started by Peter Gilbert in 1990. Peter was trained on Jaguar and Rover where he worked for Jaguar Rover Australia. Since then Peter worked as a technical advisor for NRMA and owned a specialist English repair garage in Merewether NSW. In 1990 Peter opened the new workshop in Maitland NSW and we have been here ever since. The garage is currently operated by Andrew, Murdoch and Julie Gilbert and they have specialist knowledge in vehicles of Classic, European, English and various Classic American vehicles. Andrew was factory trained with Holden motor vehicles and has operated his own service station and workshop in the Maitland area spanning the years of 1994-2003. He also has specialist knowledge with Porsche, Jaguar And BMW. Murdoch was factory trained with Volvo and Renault and was awarded Apprentice of the Year across all trades in 2002. He also has specialist knowledge in Saab, Rolls Royce and various classic American vehicles. What we can do for you With extensive knowledge and special tools required to work on a vast array of vehicles, we offer a unique, efficient and reliable alternative to the factory dealers. Our passion is working on classic vehicles usually outside the scope of the dealer. You can rest assured that your classic or prestige vehicle will be in experienced hands, as we have most likely owned one ourselves. Pre purchase inspections. We work on a flat hourly rate. You just tell us how long you want us to spend checking your vehicle. We suggest a minimum of 2 hours. We offer "e-safety" Pinkslips and Blueslips for cars, motor cycles and trailers. All our vehicles are serviced and sold with a road worthy certificate.
