Gem-Array Jewellers Ballina

After purchasing my beautiful engagement ring a month ago from some very pleasant, patient and helpful staff at the store, I returned to look for our wedding rings. It was a Saturday (9/2/2013) and the store was full of potential customers and staff happily providing service. A junior staff member helped us with sizing my fianc's wedding ring finger and showing him some wedding band options. When it came time to look for my wedding ring, staff asked management, to assist me. As it was busy, and the wedding is still a long way off, I was happy to wait. When it was my turn,management came over, told me how very busy you all were, had two new trainees to deal with, that they weren't even supposed to be doing quotes on weekends, and when I suggested coming back the next day, told me not to bother as the story would be the same. I was completely shocked by this behaviour, especially after the great service I had just experienced from other staff. I said not to worry, I'll try one of the other jewellers, and threw a catalogue at me! I was astonished!!! Then started loudly telling me to go to another shop if that's what I wanted. Everyone in the shop was looking at me, and I was mortified. I thanked them for 'sharing the love', left the store, and burst into tears. I regret having bought my engagement ring from this store, as it now feels like an ugly reminder of this encounter. I understand it was busy. I wasn't asking for much. I didn't need a design drawn or a quote prepared, just some advice on what my options were. But don't worry, I won't be back to bother them again. However I will be forwarding them the receipts from our wedding ring purchases, just so they know how much business they have missed out on. Perhaps they think I am overreacting, but I believe it is them who overreacted. And in a town with several other jewellers at my fingertips, I feel I have lost nothing by crossing their store off my list. If they keep up their rude behaviour, they won't have to worry about being busy anymore! Kind regards, The girl who you made cry on Saturday
