Description

Gateway Island Gallery & Studios (GIGS) are located in Wodonga Village, Gateway Island, on the road joining the cities of Albury and Wodonga, on the NSW and Victorian border. Gateway Arts Village is a collection of unique buildings housing galleries and studios, craft shops, a theatre, a jazz club and a restaurant set amongst restful gardens. Drop in to the Visitor Information Centre, visit the galleries and see artists and crafters at work in their studios. Purchase a fine meal, have a coffee and cake outdoors or enjoy a picnic in a gazebo. A short stroll will take you to walking tracks along the Murray River or past Byrne Lagoon to the sculpture, Porta, at the gateway to Wodonga and Victoria.

Company description

GIGS Gateway Island Gallery and Studios officially opened in March 2010 and is run by the voluntary not for profit organisation, Arts Wodonga.

High quality contemporary art works of over 50 regional artists are for sale in the consignment gallery. Works include paintings, drawings, sculptures, pottery, ceramics, photography, textiles, jewellery and artists' cards.

Solo and group exhibitions, changed monthly, are held in the main exhibition gallery.

GIGS Studios provide a space where several local artists work and display their art. The Studios are open to the public who can watch the artists at work and interact with them.
