Dr Fraenkel Overview:

• Is Medical Director of Laser Vision for over 10 years, specializing in laser cataract and laser refractive surgery has been a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and the Royal Australasian college of Surgeons since 1998

• Has completed two Fellowships in Corneal, Cataract and Refractive Surgery – one at the Vision Institute in Chatswood NSW and the other at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.

• Holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Medicine (Refractive Surgery) at the University of Sydney – which is one of only two such academic courses in the world.

• Is a member of the Australian, American and the European Societies of Cataract and Refractive Surgery as well as the American Academy of Ophthalmology

• Has trained in LensAR laser cataract surgery at the Assil Eye Institute, Beverly Hills, California, and Lensar Headquarters, Orlando, Florida to become a Certi?ed Applications Trainer.

• Is the first Australian to achieve this status which will allow him to train other Australian and overseas ophthalmologists in laser assisted cataract surgery with LensAR.

• Has also been formerly accredited in the use of the Carl Zeiss Visumax femtosecond and Mel-90 excimer lasers by Carl Zeiss.

• Regularly ventures overseas to find the latest technologies and techniques for our patients.

• Has prepared and published research in the areas of refractive and cataract surgery, and has presented scientific papers at international meetings.
