ONE OF THE STAFF MEMBERS DOES NOT DESERVE TO BE EMPLOYED AT THE STORE. Late this Friday 10th Oct evening I returned to the store (about 5pm - it closes at 5.30pm) to discuss how I could get some furniture I had collected that day looked by staff as I thought it may be faulty. I do not have a trailer so the staff member told me that I had to pay $66 (or there-abouts) to get the goods back to the store, as staff could not look at furniture inside a property due to covid. I explained that I was not at all asking for any staff to visit my home but I wanted to know if I could receive any help in getting the goods returned to the store for inspection without such a courier cost. I then explained I thought it was a little unfair that the cost of the courier was going to be charged to myself for a brand new piece of furniture that was possibly faulty and that all I wanted was some level of support to get the furniture returned to the store from golden square. He then put he his hands up in front of his chest and said in a much more stern voice "well that's not my problem" . I was disgusted. He then told me bluntly that his shift was about to finish and he would not help me further. I then asked if any other staff could help and he told me I can speak to the manager. He notified a staff member that I had questions and then he hurriedly left from his shift. Thankfully the assistant manager was helpful and considerate of my reasonable request. Unlike that rude staff assistant, I was helped by the Assistant Manager who actually cared about my concerns and gave me an alternative plan of attack for the issue, if after further research it was still concluded the product was faulty. The assistant manager was an excellent example of the great team at that store, whereas the store assistant finishing his shift was nothing but an absolute disgrace to the store and fellow staff members. When entering the store again I will ensure to never deal with him as he does not deserve continued loyalty of customers and does not deserve to even be employed when so many others out there would very much look after and appreciate the role.
