John and Anne Tait have operated this fascinating little family business in the Melbourne suburb of Essendon since May 2002. As our name suggests we sell records, CDs and books. We do not run the Essendon Record Fair but help Mick Maloney promote it and are happy to take enquiries and answer questions. John is the author of a great Australian music biography: ‘Vanda and Young - Inside Australia’s Hit Factory’ 2010 NewSouth Books. You can purchase author signed copies direct from the shop for the special price of only $10. He also collaborated on John Bois’ brilliant and hilarious book ‘The Dingoes Lament’ (Nov 2012). Copies of this can also be purchased at the shop for $10 A book on Mic and Jim Conway of Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band is finished and has just found a home with Melbourne Books. Release will be mid-2015.
