Counselling provides a safe, confidential and supportive environment where an individual can openly share personal thoughts, feelings and concerns with the aim of improving their situation. Some problems we encounter can feel completely perplexing and/or overwhelming. They can impact on our life so much that all of our attention becomes focused on the negative, and we fail to acknowledge the positives surrounding it.

Many couples or family members seek counselling when their issues have reached a point where significant damage has been done to the relationship. Some only attend as a last resort - when the relationship is on the verge of ending. Addressing the issues early enables a better chance of resolution, recovery and/or moving forward in a healthier direction. Counselling provides a space where each person can be heard and patterns of behaviour addressed in order to improve the relationship and/or circumstances.

Counselling can help with a range of issues, such as Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Stress, Anger Management, Grief/Loss, Difficult Life Transitions, and Relationship counselling. By adopting a range of therapeutic styles, the counsellor will work with you to overcome your presenting difficulties. No person or relationship is the same and therefore counselling is tailored to each individual, couple or family with the aim of helping the client(s) facilitate positive change and/or relieve distress.

Empowered Mind Counselling Service provides counselling to Adult NDIS consumers who have Plan Managed or Self Managed funding.
Members holding certain levels of coverage/extras with the following health funds may be entitled to rebates from their providers - Medibank Private, Phoenix Health, St Lukes, Doctors Health Fund and Police Health Fund. Please check directly with your health fund provider first.
