East Melbourne Psychology is a practice of highly qualified Clinical and Counselling Psychologists with years of experience counselling individuals, couples and families. All of our psychologists have a minimum of 6 years tertiary training and at least 5 years of supervised practice and are accredited members of the Australian Psychological Society. The team at East Melbourne Psychology is: Sara Van Hecke Grad Dip Psych, MPsych, MAPS(Clin). Sara is a Clinical Psychologist who specializes in relationship work, women's anger management, parenting issues, women’s issues, and grief issues. She has a strong interest in complimentary health in relation to breast cancer and helping women come to terms with this particular diagnosis. She has also worked extensively with women experiencing family violence. Sara strives to provide a non-judgmental warm atmosphere with a focus on working collaboratively with each client to bring about positive change in his or her circumstances. Dr Karen Weiss Dip. Ed Psych, MPsych, DPsych, MAPS(Clin), VAFT. Dr Karen Weiss is a Clinical Psychologist with a specialty in family relationship work. She is also a clinical supervisor, mentor and trainer with over 20 years experience in both corporate and community settings. Her clinical approach is preventative and solution oriented utilizing a combination of systemic, mindfulness based, cognitive behavioural and emotion focused techniques. She has a strong interest in wellness and healthy lifestyle and strives to incorporate an holistic view in all her work.
