Dr Frank Lin, Box Hill North, VIC

After graduating from Melbourne University in 2001, Frank undertook three years of general residency training at St Vincent’s Hospital before embarking on training in General Surgery.In 2008, Frank undertook advanced surgical training under the auspices of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. During this period, he worked at major Melbourne hospitals including the Royal Melbourne Hospital, St. Vincent’s Hospital and the Royal Children’s Hospitals.

After completing specialist surgical training and gaining recognition as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Frank undertook further overseas fellowship training in microsurgical breast reconstruction in London with world renowned Professor Venkat Ramakrishnan. During this time he also studied with eminent professors including Prof. Isao Koshima at the University of Tokyo and Prof. Yu Li at the Shanghai 9th People’s Hospital in the field of breast and aesthetic surgery, as well as aesthetic surgery for Asian patients. During this extended period of training, Frank has undertaken further research and has academic publications in areas such as breast surgery, craniofacial surgery and hand surgery.

Upon returning to Melboune, Frank commenced work as a specialist plastic surgeon with public hospital appointments at Eastern Health, Peninsula Health and Northern Health.Frank is actively involved in academic conferences and meetings, keeping up to date with the latest advances in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. Frank is also involved in the training of junior medical staff and medical students of Monash University medical school through his public appointments.

In 2012, Frank founded Eastern Plastic Surgery, an association of fully qualified specialist plastic surgeons based in the new medical precinct of Epworth Eastern Hospital and the newly redeveloped Box Hill Hospital.
