RANT OF THE DAY - My 17 year old asks a key cutter namely Ashmore plaza key cutters to cut a spare key for her car, specifying it has a chip in it. They cut it in 45 minutes, britts comes back in 30 minutes leaving ample time to let them explain anything they need to. she is charged $125 and is on her way. she puts the spare newly cut key in the cupboard incase she ever looses hers. Trev goes to use it 10 days later, it doesn't start the car. We take it back and they try to tell us it was 4 months ago. We produce the receipt. The old guy (not the original guy who served her) walks out to check it. It doesn't start the car. He then asks what key we used to get there and britts show him the original. He then proceeds to tell us that her original is a remote key with central locking) that arms the car making the spare key useless in starting the car. and we now have to use the spare key (with no central locking as the everyday key and the original as a spare. I asked why this was not explained on purchase. (attack time from the store man - not even one sentence of rational explanation) SO SO SO SO rudely he looks at Britts and says if she didn't have the time to listen to them explain it and understand the difference at purchase it wasn't his fault. Britts explained she came back and was waiting at least 15 minutes and nothing was explained. She clearly could not understand the difference between a spare key that should work as a spare and a spare key that now should be used as an everyday key if it was never explained in the first place. This guy was so rude, he wasn't even the person that originally served her, he then gave us back the key stating that everyone should understand the difference and stormed back into the shop………. He also said people came to his key shop because he's the cheapest………. His customer service was appalling, his attitude was disgusting and i would rather pay more money and have better service then be treated like that……. so be aware, a spare car key is not a spare car key if you have an original key with central locking, if you want a spare key (in this guys eyes, everyone should already know) than you must ask for a spare remote key. If you sell a good priced product, It does not mean you have the right to be rude!
