Creative Bush Retreat Weddings At Sokil, Aireys Inlet, VIC

Sokil is the home of the Ukrainian Scouting organization PLAST and has been used to host scout camps and activities since the early sixties. The name Sokil was given to the property by the original founders of Plast in Australia, and is named after a bird (falcon) found in the Carpathian Mountains of Western Ukraine. During the sixties the property was developed by immigrant Ukrainian workers. These men and women with amazing foresight and energy manually constructed the 50m Olympic size swimming pool and much of the initial infrastructure including roads and services. The property has been added to over the years by subsequent generations. Sokil lies in its own hidden valley in the middle of and completely surrounded by the Great Otway National Park. We are located 11km by road from Aireys Inlet and the Great Ocean Rd. Geelong is 45min away and Melbourne an easy 1 ½ drive from Melbourne with only 1 set of traffic lights from the West gate bridge to our door. (Once Geelong by pass is opened). The property is 150 acres of mostly shady bush. It has two creeks running through it, one which feeds the Olympic size pool mentioned above The West Coast region is probably the best tourist location in Victoria with a diverse range of activities and natural attractions. Visitors can go from pristine beaches to lush rainforests, explore the Great Ocean Rd, drive through beautiful countryside and visit many a small country town.
