Tom and Betty Cowles founded the company in 1947, originally a gunsmith, selling camping supplies, gas re-fills and even a barber. Tom Cowles Locksmiths has grown from the early days to specialise in the field of Locksmithing. TCL has grown along with Cairns to provide first class service for Far North Queensland. As Cairns is growing so is the Tom Cowles Locksmith Family, moving from the shop where it all started at 76 Spence St, to a new premises at 145 Bunda St. The current building was purpose built to enable our locksmiths to work efficiently and supply excellent service to our customers. For locksmithing work you could not ask for any more, state of the art machinery and a comfortable working enviroment. Our customers are also looked after with friendly service and customer parking. All of our staff are certified with the Queensland Government with Security Advisers Licence and Security Equipment Installers Licences. Along with these licences all staff have Blue Cards so they can work both on construction sites and schools. Tom Cowles carry a large range of locks and spare parts in stock, so if you have a problem with a lock we can fix it for you with minimal delay enabling you to feel secure in your home or workplace.
