Cairns Breadworks is a family owned and operated business that opened its doors in 1994, when Graeme and Bev bought the premises. "We felt there was a need in Cairns, for a traditional option for bakery products" Many Restaurants have applauded this step back to a more nutritional and better tasting method of baking and this has resulted in a long list of restaurant managers and chefs themselves, now placing orders to serve with their fine cuisine. Unlike supermarkets and larger companies that bake bread in high volume and at great speed, with automated machines, Cairns Breadworks has continued to develop the "Art" of baking to preserve the taste and texture of their products. This is the foundation of Cairns Breadworks bakery. All of our Bread products, Croissants and Donuts are made this way. Very little yeast is used in this process and the dough is given time to rise allowing a more natural fermentation. Once this "immediate proof" has concluded, the dough is then placed in covered tins and stored for "final proofing" before being baked in our ovens. This method gives the bread a natural taste rather than what is generally purchased from a supermarket. Cairns Breadworks is completely self sufficient in all of the processes required to create the bakery products from inception to completion. We also have our own packaging plant so that we can control every aspect of quality for each of our customers. Don't just take our word for it, come down and see for yourself !
