Born Bold Cats is a Queensland-based pedigree Sphynx and Elf cattery focused on producing healthy, confident, well-socialised companions with strong temperaments and extensive lifetime support for their families.

Our breeding program places a high priority on health, genetics and responsible breeding. Breeding cats undergo DNA testing and regular HCM screening by a veterinary cardiologist. Kittens are raised in a home environment with careful socialisation, handling and exposure to everyday household experiences to help build confidence from an early age. Before leaving for their new homes, kittens are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, veterinary health checked and registered with ANCATS with an official pedigree.

Born Bold Cats is also closely connected with The Smart Cat Society, founded by Jane Cockerton, which focuses on feline behaviour, training and owner education. Jane has completed advanced feline behaviour studies through CASI and is a PPGA Professional Member, with practical experience across kittens, adult cats, entire and desexed cats, multi-cat households and multiple breeds.

The Smart Cat Society provides evidence-based guidance on feline behaviour, enrichment, training, confidence building, introductions, litter box problems, multi-cat conflict and other common behaviour concerns. Education is centred on force-free, reinforcement-based methods and helping owners better understand how cats communicate and learn.

Jane also delivers public education, behaviour talks and cat training demonstrations at pet expos and cat events, working with trained cats including Sir Dobby, Kreature and Pickle to show what cats are capable of when training is built around trust, motivation and positive reinforcement.

Born Bold Cats has received multiple industry awards for breeding, feline wellbeing and business excellence, while The Smart Cat Society continues to expand its work in feline behaviour education and support.
