Animal lost over 1kg, broken jaw and snapped fang. Wont eat and now is scared of everything!!!

We recently had our two dogs Indy and Diablo at Alida's kennel. We left them in their care on the 5th September and on the 10th September we collected Indy and Diablo and took them home. The next morning we found Indy was paralysed, We found to our horror a tick on her chest. This tick turned out to be a paralysing tick, the kind of tick that KILLS dogs. We took her immediately to the vet who said the tick had been on her for 3-5 days. She had been in Alida's care for 6 days. She had lost the feeling in her legs and her breathing was slowing, the vet advised us that if we had have been much later she would DIED. I understand that while you cannot control ticks (even though it is a known fact that it is tick season), but the fact that this was not picked up (by the Kennel and its workers, her carers) until we got her home, in my opinion, is not the kennel and service provider showing due care. Nor is it what I paid for. Not only have we had to pay the $228 for them to take care of our dogs, we now have had to pay another $781.29 to save our dogs life after being in their care. If she had have received good care and attention from Alida's, they would have found the tick BEFORE it nearly killed her. This is an extremely serious matter and my dog Indy could have died because of their negligence I shudder to think what would have happened if Indy was in their care for another day. This is not acceptable and I respectfully requested a refund of the $228 that we paid Alida's in good faith to take care of our dogs. We also requested reimbursement of the associated vet bills of $781.29 that we had to spend in order to save our dogs life after she was neglected in their care. We have heard nothing from Alidas so have now contacted the Office of Fair Trading and are hoping for a good outcome from there., However, I just want to let people know, be careful if you HAVE to take your beloved animals here, we nearly lost our Indy and I would hate for anyone else to go through what we are going through.
