Folly’s On Ocean refuse to communicate and to remove my personal mobile number off their Facebook listing, referenced by Google. Hey, you are loosing business when your customer's call ME instead of calling YOU - Does that make economic sense?

I have been coming to this shop for nearly a decade - prior to moving to the area - in fact I used to laugh that I lived in Melbourne and shopped in Port Elliot. Unfortunately, I have seen the most appalling behaviour - NOT FROM THE OWNER but from entitled twots of customers. I have witnessed people bringing in food when the sign at the entrance clearly asks people not to, I have witnessed people pulling stock out of boxes and leaving it on the floor. I have been there when customers have been asked to leave and for good reason. I have also heard from many of the shops in Port Elliot about the high level of theft when these customers come in and create a diversion. The shop is full to the brim of good quality, reasonably priced stock and we locals appreciate the regular turn over to ensure we always find gems close to home. These spurrious complaints say more about the customer than the owner. Did you bother to say hello, how are you? As you walked into HER space? I was there when one of the bad reviewers was, and I think you should get off your high horse and appreciate how hard our local shops are working to provide you with a service. Walk along North Terrace and the Strand and ask all the other shops how they are doing? Trade places for a week and see how quick you are to put up with the bad behaviour. We locals have a sigh of relief on Monday each week and when school goes back so we can have the precious relationships with our local shops and not see them so stressed. So do the world a favour, stop, smile and be kind first. You never know what has happened before you walked in, you don't know unless you are in their shoes. This business survives in spite of the occasional bad customer, and your hideous reviews and we regulars love the way we are looked after and will continue to shop there regardless.

I had the pleasure of shopping here today. Not only did the staff make me feel comfortable, they went out of their way to find me garments which would suit my stature, on they insisted on steaming them before I tried them on so as to give me a view of the garments at their best. Will definitely be back and will be recommending to my friends.

Has anyone else experienced the absolute disrespect from the shop owner at FOLLY'S on Ocean Port Elliot! My recent visit to this store turned into a disgraceful and degrading experience due to the shop owner’s behavior. Without any justification, she not only didn’t let me try on the clothes I liked but she also told me to leave and spoke to me in the most disrespectful manner imaginable. I go to this store a number of times when staying at our beach house in port Elliot. My mum goes to this store and spends money at almost every visit almost every fortnight when they are down at the house. I don’t know if she has me mistaken for someone else but I am mortified and extremely embarrassed (as the store was full of people). The last time I visited I tried something on that didn’t fit me properly and she snatched the clothes out of my hands and continued to tell me that they aren’t a ‘resell store’ I had no idea what she meant by that but she continued to explain that ‘you can’t try on my clothes to then resell on Insta’ I was very confused and said I’m sorry I have no idea what you mean by that but I don’t do that??? Leaving very confused.. 🤨 Then now this is the next time I’ve been back and she kicked me out? I am literally shook and deeply offended 🫨 By the reviews on the internet about her, it looks like she treats a lot of people like this & it still baffles me that she can get away with treating people in such a disrespectful manner.

I had very similar experiences to you. The owner was very nasty during covid, ranting about hand hygiene etc. Another time i went there she came out and told me to move my car! 1 visit she accused me of trying things on and then buying online, then I vowed I would never go in again 😏 however temptation got the better of me...I went in and she told me I couldn't try anything on because she had no electricity...only lighting. She allowed another customer to try on! Thanks for your review, I wondered if I looked dirty or smelly!! 😊

Visited this store today. 2 years in a row the owner has been offhand and rude. This lady needs to read her reviews & take note. We won't be visiting this shop again. Will take our business elsewhere in Pt Elliot & Victor. She could have sold 2 pairs of shoes today.

Went to Folly’s on Ocean at Port Elliot with my wife.   My wife went to the change rooms to try on an garment.   I walked to the rear where she was to have a look at the item on.  I was approached by the owner who said, “Excuse me, I can’t have men back here, it makes some of my customers uncomfortable”.   It wasn’t even distinctly another part of the store.     Firstly, I may have been gift shopping or even shopping for myself  Additionally, assuming gender these days is not acceptable. What a horrid hag of a human. How does she still operate within so many bad reviews.

I have been in the store when dominating men have stood over their partners near the change room - it is far too small an area for men to be loitering and no I would not be comfortable with you in that space - the owner did the right thing for the majority of customers. If you like wearing women's clothes, did you go into a change room to put them on? if not your gender comment is a spurious claim. I am 100%behind the owner on this.

The lady that works at this shop is absolutely revolting. She screamed at us for no reason - even as we were leaving the shop. Who runs a business like this or even treats other humans like such dirt? I would genuinely rather die than EVER set foot in that hell hole again. Maybe she is so revolting to match her stock. AVOID AT ALL COST!

Absolutely the most upsetting experience of my shopping life the owner is horrific so rude I don’t understand her at all she should be happy having people in her shop to support her I have been in there a few times but the last experience was definitely the worst I was so upset I could hardly drive back to my house in Middleton

I am a local and have been in this shop several times where I have witnessed the owner being extremely rude to customers where I have been left so embarrassed that one of local shops would treat someone so rudely. I know the person she was talking to and that person is the most kindest, honest local I know. I said to her afterwards are you ok? she lost not only me as a customer but many others that day that witnessed her rudeness. We all walked out speechless. NOT ok... I will be taking my money elsewhere.

Avoid. The disgusting grub of a human that owns the business should take a good hard look at herself as all of the online reviews reflect similar experiences. After my experience the other day, speaking with others that have experienced the same, and then the reviews here, well….we can’t all be wrong! Have a good hard look at yourself and show some respect to customers that are trying to support your business. Saying I didn’t covid check in because you didn’t hear the check in sound as my phone is on silent, and after being harassed to see my phone as proof and turning around to walk straight back out of your cluttered store, you say I’ve lied and didn’t check in. Get some professional help!

Actually, she had every right to insist on seeing your check in as she could have been fined up to $5000 for not checking. The fact that you object to adhering to the law is more concerning.

The most hostile and unfriendly experience ever! Spare yourself and head to the better shops down the road and opposite. Took my business elsewhere
